Master Containers was founded in 1969 by Clayton Lyons. It was a family owned and operated business for almost 40 years, run by Tom and Richard (Dick) Lyons.
Master Containers was purchased in 2007 and is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Spirit Foodservice Products, Inc. Spirit Foodservice has been in the foodservice industry for almost 75 years with a proud history of innovation as its heritage.
In 1934, Spirit invented the cocktail "Swizzle Stick", and in the 1950's they invented the "Steak Marker". Spirit developed the "Sword Pick" and "Arrow Pick" in the 1970's which quickly became the industry standard. In 1999, they acquired the "Zoo Piks" company, which has been marketing novelty cocktail items since 1961.
Spirit Foodservice continues to develop or acquire innovative products to diversify its offerings. Some of these offerings include straws, disposable utensils, as well as many specially foodservice products like the "Sea-Sheller", acquired in 1998. Spirit also maintains their status as the leader in the marketplace of themed, printed and custom-designed cocktail stirrers and picks.
Spirit's years of experience in the foodservice industry provides them with the know-how to produce quality products and deliver the service that customers expect. They've been manufacturing products that help customers portray a quality image, as well as promote their brand identity for years.
